Almost every bank in the Netherlands is a member of the Dutch Banking Association (Nederlandse Vereniging van Banken or ‘NVB’).

The association has around 70 members, including domestic and international banks and credit institutions that operate in the Netherlands. The NVB provides a platform for knowledge, the exchange of information and the representation of members’ interests in relation to the themes that will affect our sector in the future. Our members draw on our expertise and knowledge, which we share with our members via our website.

Become a member

Organizations that are licensed to operate or authorized to do so by a foreign legal entity may become members of the association. Banks that are affiliated with a central credit institution, as referred to in the Financial Supervision Act, are represented by that credit institution. Banks that wish to become a member of the association should submit a written request. The board will decide whether requests for membership are granted. If the board declines a request for membership, the applicant may appeal against the decision to the board within two months.

Members share their knowledge and experience through boards, committees and working groups. Further details concerning membership of the association can be found in the statutes of the NVB, or by contacting us directly.
